Engineering a Sustainable Future
UES helps clients plan, design, build, and maintain infrastructure that supports communities today while preparing them for the needs of tomorrow. Through engineering expertise, environmental science, materials testing, inspections, and advanced technologies, we help project teams make informed decisions that reduce risk, protect natural resources, and improve long-term performance.
For UES, sustainability is not a single service or project milestone. It is an integrated approach that considers how infrastructure interacts with the environment, responds to changing conditions, uses resources, and performs throughout its life cycle.
Sustainable infrastructure begins with a clear understanding of the site. Our geotechnical engineers, environmental scientists, geologists, inspectors, technicians, and technology professionals evaluate the conditions that can influence project design, construction, and long-term operation.
By identifying subsurface, environmental, regulatory, and construction risks early, UES helps clients develop practical solutions that can improve resilience, reduce unnecessary material use, limit costly rework, and extend the useful life of infrastructure.
We Are a Certified Sustainable Business
UES attained the Edenark Group ISO 14001 Environmental Sustainability Certification in 2022 for our national headquarters in Orlando, Florida. Since the initial certification, our team has continued its sustainability journey and has renewed its certification each year.
The Edenark Group ISO 14001 program, which allows companies to progressively improve at a pace that works for their needs, helps the organization define how it interacts internally, externally, and with the environment. It incorporates energy/waste/water, employee health and performance enhancement, community involvement, procurement and suppliers, compliance and regulations, emergency/security, and stakeholder engagement. Benefits include creating a culture of continual improvement, stakeholder engagement, lower costs, and committing to the improvement and protection of the environment for current and future generations.
