Striving for Safety Every Step of the Way

Ensuring the safety and well-being of our team members isn’t just a priority at UES – it’s a value ingrained in our culture. As we celebrate Construction Safety Week, we take this opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety in and encourage employees to do the same.

Let’s dive into how UES prioritizes safety.

  • Comprehensive Training
From OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) 40-hour courses to workplace-specific safety protocols, our team members undergo rigorous training to identify, prevent, and address potential hazards on site. Our dedication to ongoing education is evident in our annual refresher courses and continuous reinforcement of safety protocols through company meetings and our online learning platform, UES University.
  • Drug & Alcohol Screening
Safety isn’t just about physical precautions – it’s also about mental clarity and alertness. All members of the UES team participate in pre-employment and random DOT drug and alcohol screenings. Employees working on certain client job sites may also be tested at the client’s request. By maintaining a zero-tolerance policy for substance abuse, we ensure that every team member can perform their duties safely and effectively.
  • Prevention Over Productivity
In an industry where deadlines and productivity are top priority, it can be tempting to prioritize output over safety. At UES, we firmly believe that one should never come at the expense of another. We empower our employees to speak up about safety concerns without fear of reprisal and strive to create a work environment where all members of Team UES feel valued, protected, and safe.
