Prosper ISD – Children’s Health Stadium and Natatorium

UES provided geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing services for Prosper ISD’s $50 Million Children’s Health Stadium. The project included home and away bleachers with concessions and small buildings beneath, press box, 14,000 sf field house, scoreboard, football field, lift station, and 38,000 sf natatorium building.

 

CMT scope included site preparation, swells (stadium & natatorium), utilities, lime stabilization, lime series, piers, concrete testing, reinforcing steel, structural steel, mortar, and grout. The stadium can hold up to 10,000 people and houses the largest video board in a Texas high school stadium.

UES provided construction materials testing services for the redevelopment of the former minor league baseball, AirHogs Stadium. The new Major League Cricket Stadium can hold 7,200 people and opened in July of 2023. The Superkings now inhabit the stadium and are the only MLC team in Texas.

AVEVA Stadium

The new Aveva Stadium is a $3.2 million dollar project and is home to the Houston SaberCats. The stadium features a 4,000-person capacity rugby field, parking for more than 1,100 vehicles, concessions, two secondary multipurpose fields, lighting for night games, and other fan attractions.

UES provided construction materials testing for the Aveva Stadium, which opened in 2019.

Dallas Mavericks Practice Facility

Dallas Mavericks Practice Facility

Located in the Design District, across from the American Airlines Center, houses the renovated, state-of-the-art Dallas Mavericks Practice Facility. The facility, which previously was an empty warehouse, is now home to two full-sized courts, locker room, weight room, training room, and hydrotherapy pools, a wet sauna, and offices. 

Alpha Testing, a UES Company, provided construction materials testing for the 14-acre property housing the practice facility. The project concluded in 2016.

AT&T Stadium (Cowboys)

AT&T Stadium (Cowboys)

UES was selected to provide construction materials testing services for AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, and assumed the project from the geotechnical engineer of record. The $1.2 billion dollar project included the testing of 250,000 cubic yards of concrete and 80,000 tons of structural steel. Alpha Testing, a UES company, worked with Blue Star Development, Manhattan Construction, HKS, and Walter P. Moore on this deadline driven project. 

UES provided an on-site laboratory for concrete testing. Quality was maintained throughout the project by utilizing internal resources – from the structural steel inspections to floor coating verification, and providing personal attention to MWBE participation and performance, budgets, RFI and responses, and overall communication. The project was completed in 2009.

CVG FEAM Aero Hangar

The new $45 million CVG FEAM Aero Hangar at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) is a 150,000 square-foot building consisting of three-bays to house Boeing 767 aircrafts. 

During construction, UES provided materials testing and special inspection services including observation of deep foundations, footing review, reinforcing steel for the footings, slabs, and pavements. Structural steel framing and roofing was inspected for bolted and welded connections. Concrete work was tested for compressive strength and specification review.

Edgecore Mesa Data Center

Edgecore Mesa Data Center

This 1.25 million square foot campus located in Mesa, Arizona includes seven data halls, staging and storage areas adjacent to loading docks, and secure site entry. The first of the seven data halls is complete and totals 178,252 sq ft with an adjoining 20,000 sq ft of office and associated space.

The two-story building, located on the southwest corner of the campus closest to the main entrance, has 32 MW of critical load capacity. This project is LEED certified Silver.

Copper Mountain Solar 5

Copper Mountain Solar 5 is a 315 MW AC Solar project with a substation and transmission line. UES provided third-party materials testing and inspections as required for the owner to obtain a permit from the City of Boulder City. On-site improvements included field density testing and observations during utility backfill operations and access road subgrade. 

The UES structural services included reinforced concrete inspection, drilled pier foundations, driven pile foundations, structural steel inspection, epoxy, and mechanical anchor inspection.

The 48-megawatt, 550,000 square foot data center will double the size of the Phoenix campus with a 9-acre expansion to support customer demand. A two-phase development plan is underway, with an initial delivery of 24 megawatts.

AER in the District

AER in the District is Downtown Tampa’s newest luxury multi-family tower, situated between the Tampa Museum of Art and the Straz Center for the Performing Arts. Located in Tampa’s Arts and Entertainment District, the tower stands 346 ft tall, 31 stories, with an impressive 334 units. 

UES performed pre and post construction surveys, construction materials testing, and seismic monitoring (GEO) for the tower.
