National Institute of Health Surgery, Radiology, and Lab Medicine Campus

Construction broke ground in May of 2023 on this $630 million addition to the National Institute of Health (NIH) Clinical Center in Bethesda, MD. The NIH of Health Surgery, Radiology, and Lab Medicine Building, a 547,290-sf facility, will enable the discovery of innovative diagnostics, therapies, and cures for a wide range of diseases and conditions.

UES provided a 3D Subsurface Information Model (SIM) and Utility Engineering (SUE) of Health Surgery, Radiology, and Lab Medicine Building. The SIM model followed general accordance with ASCE 38-22 and utilized several geophysical techniques including GPR, RF, TDEM, and FDEM. In addition, UES provided a Mobile Laser Scan of the site to help give the 3D model context.
