The iconic Ziggaraut building contains an innovative seismic damping system utilized to reduce the amount of steel used in the framing system and to enable the structure to better withstand seismic ground shaking. The 10-story administrative office building is located southwesterly from the corner of Second and G Streets and a five-story parking structure covering the city block bordered by Second, Third, F, and G Streets. The office structure and parking garage are founded on driven precast, prestressed concrete piles.

Wallace-Kuhl & Associates completed the geotechnical engineering investigation that included a site-specific ground response analysis used by the structural engineer to design the seismic damping system incorporated into the frame of the structure. WKA also observed and tested earthwork construction, pile installation, and construction materials for the project.
