V5 Data Center Facility – Carrier-Neutral Campus

V5 Data Center Facility – Carrier-Neutral Campus

Santa Clara, California
Client: Confidential
Market Sector: Technology / Mission-Critical Infrastructure
Role: Geotechnical Engineering Partner

Client Need

Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, the V5 Data Center is a four-story steel-structured facility providing 15 MW of raised-floor data center capacity across three vertically stacked modules. Built on a highly connected, carrier-neutral campus, the project supports high-density power configurations and offers N+1 redundancy to ensure uptime and reliability for enterprise and hyperscale clients.

The development included complex design-build MEP systems, utility-intensive sitework, and premium Class A amenities, such as office space, conference rooms, and employee support areas. To prepare the site for such critical and specialized infrastructure, the client needed advanced geotechnical analysis to inform design decisions and ensure long-term performance.

How We Helped

UES delivered geotechnical engineering services to support the safe and efficient construction of this advanced facility. Our evaluations guided the foundation design and site development in an area with complex subsurface conditions and high seismic sensitivity.

Scope of services included:

  • Geotechnical Investigation to assess soil stability, load-bearing capacity, and settlement risks
  • Foundation Design Recommendations to support the steel structure and high-load MEP systems
  • Sitework Consultation related to park modifications, utility infrastructure, and equipment pads
  • Seismic Considerations and performance evaluation for a critical facility in a high-risk zone
