Client Need
Arizona State University embarked on a major renovation of Sun Devil Stadium to modernize its facilities, improve fan experience, and expand amenities for student-athletes. This two-phase, $321 million transformation required expert engineering support to ensure construction integrity, particularly for upgraded seating bowls, athletic facilities, and infrastructure systems. ASU needed a partner capable of delivering rigorous testing and inspection services under tight deadlines and complex construction conditions.

UES played a critical role throughout both renovation phases, providing:
- Special Geotechnical Inspections to evaluate subsurface conditions and assess structural foundations
- Construction Materials Testing for soils, concrete, and asphalt to ensure compliance with design standards
- Field Oversight & Coordination to ensure timely and efficient service delivery in active construction zones
Phase 1 ($65M):
- South end zone upgrades including new seating, restrooms, concessions, and the iconic Tillman Tunnel
Phase 2 ($256M):
- West sideline redevelopment with new seating bowl, luxury suites, 84,000 SF athletic facility, and stadium infrastructure improvements
