UES provided on-site safety consulting to assist with the client’s compliance of the active construction site requirements mandated by the City of Tampa’s April 2020 Coronavirus (COVID-19) Regulations for Active Work Sites. UES supervised the required work site activities, including enforcing a minimum six-foot social distancing during both job tasks and break times; ensuring appropriate use of mandatory protective equipment, such as gloves and face-coverings; updating signage and information stations in both English and Spanish to promote worker awareness; encouraging visitors and/or vendors to follow all work site protocols; and increasing the comfort, morale, and overall safety of over 100 workers at the site.

UES personnel provided technical guidance and served the client as the designated COVID-19 Coordinator as required by the City. Over a five-week period, our on-site Safety Consultant monitored construction worker activities and represented the client during the City’s routine COVID-19 inspections. The collaboration between UES, the client, and site staff supported strict adherence to all City guidelines, and therefore the site passed each of its 15 inspections and a shutdown of the work site was avoided. Due to the implementation of a well-managed safety program, the City reduced its frequency of site inspections and has allowed the client to maintain operations of the active construction site moving forward.
